Emily & Cameron’s Autumn Wedding at the Grand View
The love and joy on Emily & Cam’s wedding day was seriously unmatched!! Everyone was so relaxed and ready to celebrate their love, the guests were even cheering as Cam walked down the aisle, and the good vibes continued with the partying all night long.
A perfect October day in Mendon, MA
This day was truly the best weather you could have asked for in Massachusetts in October. It was a Friday with clear skies, warm with the touch of a cool breeze passing through. On my drive to the venue I was in awe of how perfectly fall everything was from the foliage and leaves falling with the light breeze, it was fall perfection!
I am so glad Emily and Cameron chose October 25th as their date, and even happier that they chose me as their wedding photographer, as I grew up with Emily's brother, Matt, and I was so happy to be there on such a big day that has been coming for such a long time! ( Emily and Cameron are high school sweethearts!)
Dreamy autumn-inspired decor
The decor Emily and Cameron chose for their fall wedding was beautiful- the fall colors, deep burgundies, and florals were stunning. I loved how they tied in the fall floral illustrations with their seating chart, invites, and welcome sign. As a designer, I love it when my couples stick to a theme throughout their stationery and signage, and it’s something I really strive for when designing wedding stationery for my clients. If you’re looking to kill two birds with one stone and have design assistance for your wedding, you can learn more about my design offerings here.
They also had custom coozies for their guests’ favors, which I love as it’s so practical and I use my ‘Lanier’ coozie all the time! I am such a sucker for detail photos, which is why this gallery is filled with stunning detail images, and you can ensure your detail photos turn out just as beautiful by checking out this post from me sharing exactly how!
A stunning black & white wedding party
Their vibes at the beginning of the day before the ceremony were truly so chill and relaxed. Emily and her bridesmaids showed up right as I was finishing some detail shots of the venue, and while the girls worked on touching up their hair and makeup, I got to work on capturing more details provided by Emily. While I started on those photos, my second photographer, Brooke, was outside with the boys getting all of the groomsmen and groom family portraits done since Emily and Cameron opted out of a first look. Once she finished with them outside, we switched spots, and I took Emily and her bridesmaids outside for formal group shots. The girls were so much fun and looked beautiful in all black, elegant bridesmaid dresses. Once we wrapped up outside, we had the next twenty minutes to prepare for the gorgeous outdoor ceremony.
A gorgeous ceremony on the Terraza
I love how stunning the ceremony space is at the Grand View, and I love that you could set it up for different options, but the Terrazza is just so elegant and makes for the perfect ceremony backdrop. The guests were so sweet and started cheering and clapping for Cameron as he walked down the aisle, which I thought was so sweet and lovely! When Emily walked down the aisle, it was out of a movie, the beautiful staircase and fountains plus the instrumental rendition of ‘Lover’ by Taylor Swift was playing, and as a huge Swiftie, I was tearing up behind the camera! They had a short and sweet ceremony officiated by a close family friend with beautiful personal vows from the couple. The ceremony ended with cheers and so much love from their guests as they did a quick dip in the aisle and a fun jazz song to walk out to.
Golden hour portraits on the lake front
After the ceremony, we used up the beautiful golden hour lighting to take a few quick family and bridal party photos, then couple’s portraits all around the venue. I love that the Grand View has some beautiful spots all in one area; it was great to play around with posing with the architecture of the Grand View venue. This day and timeline were truly so perfect, and taking your newlywed couple portraits during golden hour just makes it so much more magical.
A joyful ballroom celebration
This party kicked it off with a bang, with a super rowdy wedding party entrance complete with a massive cutout of Emily and Cameron’s dog, wooden horses, and cowboy hats. Then Emily and Cameron joined the party and kicked it off with their first dance and dances with their parents. A huge shoutout to @DJKevinMarkey of Make a Mark Events for making their night extra special.
There were a few heartfelt speeches before dinner started to get served, where Emily and Cameron walked around and greeted their guests at their tables. Before they could officially kick off the dance party, they cut their cake surrounded by their family. The rest of the night was filled with a ton of fun with dancing the night away!
