I don’t think I’ll ever get over how gorgeous this day was. Katie and Brad sure know how to throw a partyyy, and their eye for style was so evident throughout their entire Providence City Hall wedding. From adorable book-themed invitations to the dreamiestttt gothic florals, every freaking detail of this celebration was top-notch. I can’t WAIT for you to drool over it all with me!
Katie & Brad’s Moody Wedding at Providence City Hall
A long-anticipated celebration
When I tell you I am a suckerrr for a romantic love story… Katie and Brad have such a great one. They have been together for over ten years, and are high school sweethearts! It was so clear throughout the day that these two know each other inside and out, and have been through so much in their time together. And the best part? They’ve come out the other side all the better for it, with such a beautiful foundation for their marriage. I LOVE their love!!
Gothic florals & bookish details
Katie first found me on TikTok, and one of the reasons she was drawn to my work was that I also include stationery designs in my 8-hour package. This was very important because she had some super fun, book-inspired ideas in mind 👀
Whichhhh is also how I knew we were a perfect match from the start. When we met up for their engagement session at Roger Williams Botanical Center, Katie was just starting her Throne of Glass journey. And if you know anything about the reading world, then you know this series is one of the gateway drugs to so many amazing favorite fantasy/romantasy books.
As a huge reader myself, I was THRILLED that Katie wanted certain pieces of their stationery to reflect her love for books—incorporating design elements like book-shaped save-the-dates, bookish phrases like “Our Next Chapter,” and custom-monogrammed wax seals. Every little detail was moody, gothic, and romantic from top to bottom!

Getting ready at The LOOM Hotel
Anyway, I guess I should stop gushing about the flowers so we can get to the actual rest of the wedding 😆 We started the day at the LOOM Hotel in Warwick, which is this cool modern hotel in an old industrial building. There’s SO much to love about this hotel for getting ready photos: the exposed brick walls, high ceilings, and historic charm mixed with contemporary elegance… doesn’t get much better than that. Plus, it’s right by Appanaug Brewing—a fave of mine when I lived in Warwick that would be a great spot for welcome drinks the night before your wedding!
Katie and her girls had so much fun getting ready together, sharing drinks and laughs in their black getting ready robes before Katie put her dress on. Her Maid of Honor helped her step into her dress and shoes when the moment finally arrived, and let me tell you: Katie looked INSANE once she was all dolled up in her full bridal look. Nobody in the room could stop talking about how strikingly gorgeous she looked in her strapless gown, cathedral veil, and killer manicure.
While I was hanging with the gals, my second photographer was over in a separate room with Brad and his groomsmen, who all showed up with the coolest vintage broaches that he and Katie had thrifted. Brad’s was a crown, because… duh! This king couldn’t wait to see his queen ;)
After getting plenty of bridesmaids and groomsmen portraits (and narrowly avoiding brief moments of rain), we headed off to City Hall to get these two married. I have to shout out Katie and Brad’s AMAZING coordinator Victoria, here, because she was beyond helpful in making sure everyone was where they needed to be, when they needed to be there. It is SO important to hire a coordinator you trust to keep your day flowing smoothly, especially if you’ll be switching between multiple locations like these two!

A stunning ceremony in the Aldermen Chamber
Before seeing her groom for the first time, Katie actually had the most precious first look with her dad out on the steps of City Hall. I was so happy she decided to do this, as it was such a wonderful moment to witness as all the anticipation for the ceremony was building.
As we wrapped up the first look, it was time to make our way into Providence City Hall’s ceremony room, Aldermen Chamber, to meet the rest of the guests! It was a short and sweet ceremony, with beautiful vows from both the bride and groom, and a loving group of guests to cheer them on.
I am so in love with this room and the beautifullll aesthetic it offers—I’ve never seen such a beautiful space for a simple courthouse ceremony. The Beaux-Arts style architecture; the shades of deep sage, maroon, and green; the stained glass art and gold-accented pillars… it is sooo sick, and exactly why Katie & Brad chose to get married there. You won’t find another spot like this in Rhode Island!
Newlywed portraits in the… mayor’s office?
Okay so listen to this: once guests started making their way back to the LOOM for the reception, a city hall worker came up to us, saying that the mayor had just left for the day… and asked if we wanted to take photos in his office. YES—duh! We took a few photos in there and had fun geeking out over how cool it was. Not sure any of us expected it, but it ended up giving us the most unique wedding portraits ever!
Then we got one of my favorite photos of the entire day: Katie and Brad’s full bridal party surrounding them in this dark, moody alcove. Obsessed is an understatement. The real fun began once they said their goodbyes (for now), with allll the pics of the newlyweds around City Hall, including the ceremony chambers, the grand staircase, and even some playful running-across-the-street shots outside. I will be posting all of these portraits FOREVER!
Cocktails, dinner & dance floor throwbacks
Back at the LOOM, the couple hid away for a bit while their guests enjoyed drinks & apps during cocktail hour. The reception design was insane, with all the incredible florals in addition to silky philodendron leaves, purple grapes, pomegranate slices, and other fruits that looked delectableee. And matched the color scheme perfectly!
Katie and Brad entered & shared their first dance to a gorgeous rendition of Still Into You by Paramore—so fitting for them, and the perfect lead-in to crazy dancing to One Direction everyone did later on the dance floor. Their DJ, Alex, killed it with so many great hits per usual, and wrapped up the day so beautifully for these two and their loved ones.
I loved working with these cuties sooo much, and felt so grateful to have SO much inspiration & creativity flowing out of me throughout the whole day. Shoutout to all the amazing vendors who made it happen for Mr. & Mrs. Flood—and, as one of the wedding guests wrote in the guest book, “may happiness Flood your marriage!”
